HP Product Testing

Hewlett-Packard's Imaging and Printing Organization is looking for people to evaluate their prototype products (e.g. All-in-One multifunction products, Scanners, Printers, Digital Cameras, Photo Printers, Copiers and Fax machines) in homes and offices. These evaluations are performed with your computer along with an imaging and printing device or software that is supplied by Hewlett-Packard.

Testing involves two different programs: Beta & Delta. The following is a brief description of these programs

Beta Test Program

Beta test programs provide Hewlett-Packard the opportunity to see and experience how our products perform in a customer's environment. Beta products are functional, but the products are still in the design phase. Beta programs offer us a chance to interact with customers, gaining insight on their needs and behaviors in the use of our products.

Beta tests typically run for 8-10 weeks and the products have to be returned at the end of the test. Evaluators are compensated for their time with HP gift vouchers and in many cases evaluators will receive a new product (identical to the one they tested), once it becomes available in the market.

Delta Test Program

Delta test programs provide Hewlett-Packard the opportunity to validate a product's design in a customer's environment. Delta focuses on the overall experience, from installation, to day-to-day use, to support and service. The idea is to identify and address customer issues and concerns before the product is introduced. Delta programs are held just prior to our products becoming available for purchase.

Delta tests typically run for 8-10 weeks and HP will compensate those participants that have completed all To Do's and Surveys and the full testing program within the specified time frame by allowing them to retain the delta unit at the end of the beta program.
